Today I took a short 20 minute walk around the Toronto Brick Works with Krista. The photo of the day is this great shot of the valley tower.

Woo number 31! I have now taken and posted a new photo everyday for a month. Not to bad and just getting started.

Today’s photo of the day is a fancy 6 stacked kite against a beautifully blue sky and wispy clouds. Very little adjustment was done to this photo, that’s the blue that came out of the camera.

There was a crazy thunderstorm today and rained a lot for a short period of time. In fact there was even a rainbow and I did get a picture of. But it’s not the photo of the day. It’s in my photostream if you’re interested. After the rainbow I ran across this snail on my front step, it’s the photo of the day.

Lacking a true macro lens, I popped on my 55-300mm.

Nikon D5100, 300mm, ISO100, F5.6 1/15sec exposure.

Without the VR on the 55-300mm lens, I never would have been able to get this shot handheld at 1/15th giving me an ISO of 100.

Here are the rules:
1) I have to upload one new, original photo to the blog every day.
2) The photo has to be taken on that day. No using photos taken in previous days.

Did some experimentation this evening with HDR processing. This is a composite of 6 images all at different exposures. I backlit the subject to really try and emphasize the effect.

This photo was taken in some weird little place near Tommy Thompson park. Not exactly sure where. But there was a little break in the rain and a large ship on the horizon.
