It’s the day after demo day! Wow, can’t believe FounderFuel is over, it’s been quite a ride and I really want to send my appreciation and thanks to all the guys and girls at Real Ventures and to all the mentors that came to share their wisdom with us.

C2-MTL is a huge international conference that Sid Lee, Fast Company, Cirque De Soleil The Province of Quebec and a buch of others are putting on right here in Montreal. The best part of it is that Epilogger is built right into their mobile app and judging by the tweets, the response has been overwhelmingly positive. As such we had a couple of passes to attend the conference. I’m been absolutely dead with strep or something. But I took a bunch of medicine and headed down for a few hours. It was huge and insane and I’m really happy I went.

Today’s photo of the day is Francis Ford Coppola at C2-MTL

In the middle of a huge thousand person strong rally/protest. I grabbed this great shot of a photog in a fantastic stance. The composition in this shot really stands out to me.

On my way home from Notman house tonight I ran into this interactive art exhibit in front of the St Laurent metro station. The projected guy on the wall was in a great position for this shot.

Heading home at 11:30am to put on shorts and ran across a group of these guys larping in the park. It was 30+c out. These guys must have been hot in all that gear.

(This is why you check your setting before you start shooting, took a bunch of photos before I noticed I was on JPEG and at ISO3200 in the bright sunlight. But the high shutter speed did freeze the action well.)

Hey! It’s photo of the day time. Today I managed to get out quite a bit and took over 2gb of photos. Finding which one to use for photo of the day was a little hard. Here is what I chose. On my walk from dinner to the Metro station, I ran into another one of the Montreal protests, so I joined in while continuing to walk to the Metro. Snapped this shot of a women with a mask on backwards to the left, other protesters and Quebec flag off to the right. Think it speaks pretty well.

I was really busy at work today and didn’t get a chance to get out. Here is another in the series of weird stuff around my room in Montreal. As lame as the premise is, it does force me to try and be as creative as possible with the limited room and materials I have around. This is a 2/3rds enjoyed bottle of wine being held up by a silver hand statue.

This photo has a little drama to it. This is shot from the front steps of Notman House looking down towards the lake. The church tower is centred in the distance and framed by the Opus Hotel on the left and kewl spiral staircase on the right. Overhead is an approaching thunder storm turning everything black. Quite ominous.

Today was a rainy, busy day and I had no time to really go out and find a good location. So today’s Photo of the Day is quick and dirty.

In my room in Montreal there is a small bamboo plant. Here is a shot of the top of the bamboo infront of a mirror. You see the main sprout in focus and reflection slightly blurred. The rest of the background is gone to a nice soft blur. Also with the long focal length and light flash we get a nice vignetting around the frame.

Looks like we’ve now made it one week. It’s starting to get a little harder now, all the ideas I had in my head have been done or can’t be done on the day I need a photo. This is where things get fun.

Today was a beautiful, warm and sunny day in Montreal. Went on a walk with Michael and snapped a few pics. Here’s my fav. New water feature at Places Des Art.

Any suggestions for photos are very welcome.
